Turnover of derivatives has grown more rapidly in emerging markets than in developed countries. Banks in the emerging markets are increasingly using financial derivatives products. Foreign exchange derivatives are the most commonly traded of all risk categories, with increasingly frequent turnover in emerging market currencies and a growing share of cross-border transactions An understanding of the types of derivatives being used and how close the banks are to meeting Basel II and III requirements is essential for any professional working with banks in emerging markets. This workshop will be shedding the light on derivatives structure in the emerging markets.
